The Written Word - Boston

Written by Ysmay.

Reading is an integral part of our society and has been for generations. Thanks to authors, libraries, literary foundations, and even technology companies, we will be able to pass along amazing literature to future generations.

Due to its rich history and cultural significance, Boston continues to pop up in the Written Word.

Featured Book

We recommend picking up "A City So Grand" by Stephen Puleo. This book provides an excellent account of the history of Boston in the 50 years between 1850 and 1900 when Boston was becoming a large and vibrant city.

We know how important it is to be able to find a library whenever the mood strikes you. We've put together a map to make it easier for you to find a library.

Boston Book Fest

The Boston Book Fest, commonly called BBF, is presented by Boston's NPR station 90.9. This independent, non-profit, organisation was founded in 2009. The annual event is free and lasts for one day. Held in the Back Bay, the festival features speakers, readings, discussions, and dozens of authors from around the globe.
